Hakim has a bright future ahead of him as a bus driver
The story of Hakim:
Because of my home situation, everything in my life deteriorated. I stopped going to school, couldn't keep up with my work and had housing problems. After my level 2 diploma I followed another course, but due to concentration problems, stress and sleeping problems, I was unfortunately unable to complete the course. I had several jobs to pay my regular expenses. I didn't really know what I wanted with my future and sought help from the Neighborhood team in Utrecht.
That is why I ended up at Springplank030 where I could live and work in a stable environment. After half a year I started training at Qbuzz for bus driver. I like to drive, like to have contact with other people and riding a big bus really appealed to me. Via Springplank030 and the Employers Service Point from UWV I was guided to my current job as a bus driver. Yesterday I passed my driver's license to drive the bus!
I have now achieved my goal of having and keeping a permanent job by working at Qbuzz. My dream is to get my own home. There is already an urgency for this. I'm getting married to my fiancé in June. I'm really looking forward to that.
I want to complete my BBL education, which is located in Nieuwegein, a long way from where I live. The car is too expensive and I got rid of it. With the electric bike I am both fast at work and faster at the training. In addition, I need a laptop to be able to make reports, take tests and follow e-learnings. I had no computer at my disposal. And this is necessary.
I like being independent in my job. I feel responsible for the proper transport of passengers and I enjoy having a job. I don't like sitting still. I really enjoy social interaction with other people. It is a meaningful daytime activity for me and it also generates a nice salary.
I see a rosy future. I'm getting married soon, just got my driver's license, going to finish my education and I'm on the list for my own home!
