Felicia perseveres to achieve her dreams.
The story of Felicia
“I have my administration diploma but I no longer enjoyed it, it was always stressful to find an internship and also a job. After I got my diploma, I was still looking.
That's why I started taking another course, but this turned out not to be suitable either. I went from job to job, a 7 months contract here and there. I must honestly say it was a maze for me that I had to find my way out of. I understand that other people like changing jobs, but for me that’s absolutely not the case.
I then learned to do massages and continued with that for 3 years and then the challenges arose: The employer ultimately did not want to give a permanent contract and was obstructive in the hope that I would accept a self-employed contract. I didn't want to become a self-employed person because that also has many disadvantages. So things were made extra difficult for me at work and my contract came to an end.
I then applied for unemployment benefits, but soon came into contact with the Success project: this allows you to work in healthcare and I immediately indicated that I wanted to take that step. Last February we started getting used to it and following along and I enjoyed it more than I thought!
In September it will be time for the training and I will complete the training with confidence.
Thanks to Everyday Heroes I received a laptop and that gives me the strength to continue with everything I start!!
Tip to others: don't give up, keep persevering and persevere in what you believe!”
